ANZAC Day 2012

The 25th of April is a special day for all New Zealanders and Australians. It is the day we set aside for the remembrance of all of those men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our freedom in WWI, WW2 and conflicts since. ANZAC (Australia New Zealand Army Corps) services are held throughout both countries on that day the main ones being held at dawn and then civic services held later on. Surviving veterans march alongside current servicemen and women as well as members of other service groups such as police and cadet corps. Fitzroy School held our school service on Tuesday 24th (school was closed on the 25th) led by Mr. Mansfield. The children are all very interested in what happened at places like Gallipoli and were very respectful during the service, a fact that we as a school, are very proud of.
